It is the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea, located on the Costa Brava, and it is also the capital of Catalonia.
In the Catalonian region, Catalan is recognized as the co-official language.
This region of Northern Spain has its own culture, traditions and personality.
Furthermore, the city is full of life, joyful and perfect for everybody.
Barcelona is home to many masterpieces of great architects and it is a place where the sun, beach and sea are closed to monuments, buildings and skyscrapers.
A lot of monuments in this city are part of the World Heritage Sites.
The symbol of this city is the majestic Sagrada Familia, designed by the brilliant Spanish architect Gaudí.
The main boulevard of the city is Las Ramblas, which is always crowded and filled with shops, cafés, restaurants and colorful flower stalls.
On the top of the Montjuic you will see the Montjuic Castle, which is a fortress, and you can reach it by cable railway.
You will be fascinated by the magnificence and the colours of the Magic Fountain of Montjuic, in front of the Museum Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.
If you are willing to taste delicious food you will have to go to the Boqueria Market, a place full of food, colours and people all day long.
Casa Battlò and Casa Milà are other wonderful buildings designed by Gaudí.
To have an amazing view of Barcelona from great heights, you have to go to Guell Park. It is really nice place to relax and have a walk.
The main square and the meeting point of Barcelona is Plaça de Catalunya, a central square with sculptures and a fountain in the middle.
Barcelona is amongst Europe's top cities for fashion. The best shopping areas in central Barcelona are Passeig de Gracia, the Barri Gotic streets such as Carrer de la Portaferrissa, Carrer de la Boqueria, Carrer de Ferran and around Placa de Sant Josep Oriol.
If you need to go shopping (i.e. clothes, shoes etc.), the department store situated in Plaça Catalunya is perfect for you.
Barcelona is a city known for its wonderful night-life. There is a huge variety of bars, pubs and clubs. You will find Spanish bars with cosy and traditional atmosphere as well as several amazing clubs.
I would like to recommend you Razzmatazz, it is a spacious and popular nightclub hosting many events.

If you are still walking around the city during the night, you will have the chance to use night buses which run from 10PM to 5AM.
If you are willing to do a tour all around the city, there is the possibility to take one of the tourist buses. There are 3 lines of different colours which have distinct routes.
