Welcome to Aubagne - The city of Marcel Pagnol
Aubagne is a French commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Aubagnais or Aubagnaises. Aubagne is located in the Huveaune valley and surrounded by the mountain ranges of Garlaban with Sainte-Baume to the north and Douard to the south 17 km (11 miles) east of Marseille Port. Aubagne is the main city of the Agglomeration community of Pays d'Aubagne et de l'Etoile and the sixth largest city of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône by its population. Aubagne is especially known because of the autor, Marcel Pagnol, which was born and lived there! This city is quiet pleasant for vacancies because here you can find several landscapes as mountains, the Mediterranean Sea at about 15 minutes in car. Information and facts
Aubagne isn't a real night-life city. You can go to the cinema or to restaurant, for example in "Le Florentin" which is situated just in front of the main square of Aubagne.
Now if you are more outgoing, we recommend you to go to Marseille. Here you will find loads of pub to go as " Le Bar de la Marine" or also in "Le Canebière".
Then to finish the evening in a club, you can go in "The Mystik".
So for shopping, you will find at about 5 minutes with car a mall called "Auchan" and here you will find loads of shops for everyone. But if you don't find your happiness, we recommend you to go in Marseille, at abuot 15 minutes with car in the "La Valentine Mall" and there everything you will be looking for will be present.
In the downtown are also present some little shops for souvenirs.
At about 20 minutes with car, you will arrive at Cassis and here you can spend 1 day in the Creeks. Just take your camera, your solar cream and go on the boat and you will never forget it!
There is also a famous mountain near Aubagne called "La Sainte Victoire". You can take a day to do a nice walk there.
You go to the beach at about 15 minutes in car in Cassis, Marseille, La Ciotat. Those famous landscapes are just waiting for you...

As Aubagne is situated near from the coast it has a Mediterranean climate which including a lot of wind called "Le Mistral" with really hot and dry summers but winters are not so cold but wet.
During the summer, the temperatures can reach around 40 degrees (104 degree Fahrenheit)!
By train : Aubagne has got its own train station in 3 minutes on foot fromthe center of the city. This train station permits to go to Marseille in 20 minutes.
Then a tram line is under construction to get around all the city.
By bus : There are lines which join Aubagne to the little city closed and also lines which permit to go farther.
By plane : Aubagne doesn't have an airport but the closest one is in Marginane at 30 minutes by car.
