Cannes is located on the coast in the south of the French Riviera, in the department of Alpes-Maritimes, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur and has a population of 70,011. As curiosities it’s known for being home to its famous annual European International Film Festival and for its sunny climate, areas of tourism and its famous cathedral of Notre-Dame makes it be one of the main destinations for tourism.
If you want to wander Cannes or see the most appealing places you can visit Lerins Island is formed by a series of islands, the largest and best known is St Marguerite. It's a few minutes from the coast and offers a nature walk. So if you like to walk, you better walk by La Croisette boulevard leading from the Palais des Festivals along the beach.
