Lyon is the second largest city of France, home of the chief Paul Bocuse, silk trade, the Light party and Cinema with the brothers Lumiere. The former Capital of Roman in France has a great cultural history and monuments, going from antics to 21th Century. The entire city, like an open sky museum, offers many walking experiences through history like with Traboule, covered way inside the city in order to transport silk from a hill to another one for transformation. During 2,000 years Lyon didn't stop growing without rebuilding on former buildings. Lyon is an hidden treasure in France with the perfect balance between history, food and culture. Among all the cultural events of the city, the main one are the Light Party in december, Lumiere's festival which awarded in 2013 Quentin Tarantino for all his movies and Nights of Fourviere during summer with international shows of music, dance, theater.

Lyon offers a wide range of bar and clubs. Among them, along the Rhone river there are bar-boats which usually closed at 2 am. During summer time people can enjoy terrace of the boats. In addition, Lyon is a city that should be visited by night due to light's building. In particular relevance, during the event in December 8th many lights' demonstrations and shows are settled on the major building of Lyon as the Opera, City Hall.
Every kind of shops can be found in Lyon. The main places for shopping are the center of city in the Peninsula, where the main shops are about find clothing and delicatessen, the commercial center in La Part Dieu and the newest commercial center at the rivers' confluence. Everything in Lyon has to be seen. As an UNESCO city, Lyon offers countless of historical buildings, from antics to nowadays. Among them the best places to visit are the antic theater, gallo-roman civilization museum, Saint Jean Church and Basilica of Fourviere at the top of Fourviere's Hill which give a great sight of the city. The city has also around 30 museums for example Beaux Arts Museum, Modern Art Museum in the international city, Brother Lumiere Museum about the history of cinema and Puppet Museum. When looking for a bit of nature, the park of Tete d'Or is the perfect place with its 105 hectares of nature and inside it a 10 hectares zoo in order to watch the wild life.
Gastronomy in Lyon is an important step in the stay. There are around 1,600 places for quality food such as typical restaurants from Lyon called "Bouchon". The Merciere Street is well known for the variety of restaurant in the paved street where it's possible to taste local found and from around the city. The north of Lyon is also the place of Bocuse's Restaurant.

The city has a humid subtropical climate, there are no extreme temperatures as the climate is a mix between the cold wind from the Alps and the warm mediterranean breeze from the south. In order to avoid big crowd and high temperatures it's better to visit Lyon at the beginning of summer in June or at the end of the season in September.
Lyon has an extensive public transportations system : bus, tram, train, subway and boats. All the transportations have access for disabled. It's also possible to choose the travel through the city by using public bikes to enjoy each street.
