Saint Malo- The walled port city
Charming, beautiful and relaxing: Saint Malo is located in the north of France. It a coastal city in Brittany who attract a thousand tourists per year. This city has a fascinating past. It has a lot of historical monuments like castles, fortifications and ships. There are also famous persons who used to live there such as la Duchesse Anne and Chateaubriand.
On the centre of the town there are two famous places: the “Fort National” which is a historic monument built in 1689 and the “Petit Ble” an historic monument too. Outside the centre of the town there are several things to do or to see. The “Royal star” is a floating museum of 43 meters long, 3 mats and 20 cannons. This ship is a replica of a corsair frigate ordered by Robert le Turc. There is at 10 minutes of the centre by bus an aquarium of 10 000 fiches and 600 species. There are also the “Art Zenith” which is the first ship who reached England in 1940 and Mémorial 39/45 which pay homage to solider of the second world war.
Saint Malo has a lot of restaurants where it is possible to eat traditional dishes. There are also 2 night clubs “109” and “Riff Magnetiaue”, one bowling, one cinema and a dozen pubs. Among of all the pubs there is a famous Irish Pub called “Le Cunningham”.
There are many gifts shop in Saint Malo. The most popular present is an home-made personalize white and blue bowl. There are also supermarket, famous brands like Zara, New Look and Mephisto.
