Vichy – The Thermale City
Vichy is a city in the Allier departmant, part of Auvergne region.
The city is well-known pleased to the thermal baths and cure. During the late XVII the Marquise de Sévigné write a letter and popularize the Vichy's thermal baths. Moreover, some famouse historian person have been here for their therapy (such as the mother of Napoleon).
World War II also contribute to the reputation of the city, because the french government takes place in the city in 1940 after the armistice.
Have you ever eared about Vichy pastilles ? It's a little white octagonal sweets that are said to aid digestion, this sweets are made in Vichy since 1833.
If you would like to explore Vichy without waking, you can tke the tourist train. For something cultural, we recommend you to visit the Opéra de Vichy or the “Musée des arts d'Afrique et d'Asie”.
Vichy also have some wonderful parks like the Napoleon III. Take also some time to admire the villa & hotel from 19th & 20th century.
If you are a fan of horse you must visit the “Hippodrome de Bellrive”.
If you are looking for something new, try “Le Bar de l'Opéra” which is Grunge. Also there is “Le Back Step Café Theatre” where you can take your cofee & looking shows.
If you feel lucky or just want to play, there is a Casino, “Casino des Quatres-Chemins”, but don't forget to bring your ID card with you !
If you like Shopping, we strongly recommend you to go to the “Centre commercial les Quatres Chemins” where you can find some well-known clothes company and restaurant. Most of the shop are located in the same area.

It is easy to reach Vichy by plane, there is Vichy-Charmeil Airport, or a larger one in Clermont-Ferrand (90 kms). It is also served by TER and national train.
