In the centre of the town you can find a lot of shops that are different one from another where you can buy from foodstuffs to artisan goods, or simply cloths or shoes. It can be pleasant walk along the streets to admire the history of Lucca and at the same time buy somthing.
Lucca is full of wonderful things that you can visit and the positive aspect is that the town is not so much big then you can visit what do you prefer. Inside the walls that are so beautiful and particular to become an istitution in Italy in 1999 there are the St. Michaele Cathedral, St Frediano Basilica, the Botanical Garden and the striking Gunigi tower with roof garden. The tower is part of an important building commisioned by the family and it is the last one statement of 250 towers that where built in the middle ages. St. Michael Cathedral was built in 1070 committed by Alessandro II Pope, the strange thing is that the work continue in years after and now the church show different art styles. The St. Frediano Basilica is one of the oldest churces in Lucca, athough it has a medieval look the most beautiful thing that you can see is the mosaic in the church pediment. The botanic Garden is really beautiful and it is recommendend for ones the love the nature.
