The city is located on Warta river in Greater Poland region in west-central Poland. It was first capital of Poland (with Gniezno). In Poznan live more than half million people. First information originate from 10th century. Poznan is one of the largest and the oldest city in Poland. In Poznan has many monuments which were created in the Middle Ages and Modern Era. Each visitors should visit place such as Ostrów Tumski, Zagórze, Chwaliszewo and Old Town with its medieval villages as well as Park Cytadela. Nowadays Poznan is the largest centre of trade, sport, technology, education in Poland. In Poznan live more than 130 000 students and it has the third biggest Polish university. Moreover, the city is the residence of the oldest Polish diocese.

In Poznan the most important place which you can find the entertainments for night-life is The Old Town Square area. There are many bars, pubs and restaurant. The most of Poznan bars and pubs are flexible. They are open until the last clients. Moreover, Poznan is the place where many young people come to study so each person can find a good people to have fun. Many clubs and discos is located around The Old Town Square area.

Public transportation
The city is very well communicated. Poznan has the public buses, tram and night buses managed by the ZTM Poznan. In the centre of city people can travel only by the trams. Poznan possess 19 normal tram lines and one night tram line. The buses in the city are one of the most modern in country. In Poznan exists about 100 bus lines. The tickets are sold in kiosks, shops, etc. and cost around € 0,6.
