Welcome to Bern
Welcome to Bern the city of Banks and Chocolate
Bern is a swiss town and was built in 1191. Duke Berchtold V of Zahringen commissioned to Von Cuno Bubenberg to build a city in a place where there were only oaks. Von Bubenberg destroyed the wood and built houses and a clock tower that worked from the city gate. In 1405 the city was the scene of a fire and its buildings were burned beacuse of the wood material that was used. Contructions were rebuilt and although the buildings have changed since then the structure has been maintained mediaval. Nowdays Bern is the capital of the canton of Bern and the seat of the Government of Switzerland. There are a lot of things to see from the House of Parliament, the Clock tower to the Cathedral and the prison tower. Another place that deserve to be visited is the Einsten house in which he developed the Theory of Relativity.
