Lucerne/Luzern: The tourism city of Lucernes' lake
Lucerne is one of the most popular city to visit in Switzerland and also the capital of the district called "Canton de Lucerne" in North Central Switzerland. This city is situated on the North West of the Lucernes' lake, on the Reuss river. Their economy is based on the tourism and trading.
People used to live in this city since the prehistory, it was a dependence of the Alsatian Abbaye of Murbach created in 727 by Eberhard d'Eguisheim. In 1178, this dependence was abolished and this date became the traditional date of the citys' foundation of Lucerne. At the beginning of the 13th century, the Gotthard Pass (called Col de Gothard) was openned and it became the mean crossing from the North to the Sud of Alpes mountains. In 1332, Lucerne was integrate in the Switzerland confederacy of VIII Cantons.

You can start your night in a Swiss Folklore restaurant called Stadtkeller with live music. If you are in couple, you can eat in the Seehotel Hermitage, it has a beautiful view. Then you can carry on in the High Lucernes' Casino to play and dance in their nightclub. Lucerne have a great selection of bar such as Blue bar or Penthouse. After that, you have nightclub like Pravda Dance club. Sometimes, concerts and parties will be organize in Konzerthauss Shuur.
Lucerne is a really great city to find some gifts and local products. There are two parts to do shopping, the first one is the Old Town and the second one is the New Town. You can find some Swiss chocolate shops and watch/jewellery shops. There are a lot of Ladies' fashion, Men's fashion and gifts shops.
Lucerne offers a lot of places to visit. The most popular are The Dying Lion Statue, The Chapel Bridge and The Mount Pilatus and Rigi. Another important art sites are Richard Wagner Museum and Modern Art Museum. This city propose monuments to visit such as The Nine Towers and The Jesuitenkirche.
