Antalya – the city of the international sea resort
Antalya is the biggest city on the Mediterranean coast, located southwest of Turkey. Antalya grew to be one of the most visited resort in Turkey. The beach and the culture of the city attract so many tourists that in 2012, the place was the third most visited city in the world, right after London and Paris.
Antalya is known for its international sea resort, which is called the Turquoise Coast because of its blue seas. Many tourists enjoy visiting the historical part of the city-the city was founded in 150 BC in ancient Greek times. Antalya is the capital of the province in Turkey, but it has always been one of the greatest cities in the world.
Antalya is a city that has a lot to offer. Besides the beaches, you can visit parks with a sea view. There are museums and monuments, but also architectural buildings, ancient ruins, religious sites of traditional churches, hamams, madrasas and mosques. There are great stories behind some districts.

Antalya is one of the biggest and most developed cities in Turkey. You will find plenty of shops. Some traditional markets, like the bazaar, are mostly visited by locals. The traditional market is the most interesting place to visit.
Antalya's biggest mall is MMM Migros. You can find this mall in the western side of the city and this is the favourite place for shopaholics. The peculiarity of this city is that you can find the smallest shop in one side of the city and the famous mall on the other site. You can spend your day shopping.
Antalya has a very interesting night-life, especially in summer. There is a large variety of disco's, bars and pubs in the city. When it comes to outings, the most famous place in Antalya is Marina. Since events are mostly hold on the coast, you can have a great night at the beach with a drink.
In Kaleici streets, you can enjoy the English pubs, folkstone bars and the taverns. There are shows and dance performances in the clubs until morning.

The city has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate, which means that summers are hot and dry whereas it is mild and rainy in winter. It is sunny 300 days per year. The northerly winds are shielded thanks to the Taurus Mountains. The average sea temperature is around 38°C.
There are many sorts of public transportation such as cabs, public buses, trams, mini-buses and dolmus.
The bus has a great system to take you to the most areas of Antalya. It is affordable and convenient for tourists. Renting a cab or a car is not necessary.
When you arrive at the airport, you have to catch a taxi or a public transportation that can take you to your hotel.
There is a tramway that operates between museums.
