Welcome to Canada- The Country of the Northern Light and Ice Hockey

Canada is located in North America, between the North Pacific Ocean to the west, the North Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Arctic Ocean to the north. Canada is the second largest country in the world, smaller only than Russia, much of Canada is still wilderness, covered by forest, this makes the country a popular spot for hunting and fishing. It is divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories and comprises seven percent (7%) of the earth's total surface area. The country of Canada is rich in arts and culture. The name Canada is from the Huron - Iroquois word Kanato, which means village, settlement or land. The capital city of Canada is Ottawa, called Baytown until 1855. It is one of the oldest and fourth largest municipality in Canada. Ottawa by 1857 had potential to be the capital of the Province of Canada.

Canada holds some of the hottest destination sports in the world. Some places to visit are: The Niagara Falls- Ontario, they consist of three different waterfalls the American falls, the Bridal Veil falls in the USA and Canadian ''Horseshoe'' falls in Canada. massive waterfalls combined to make this magnificent water display. Northern Light- Manitoba, are a stunning phenomenon in the sky that make them visible on a star- spangled firmament in the polar night, the Northern lights appear as an inspiring source of fantasy for those who get carried away by the swirling and luminous effects.
