Bordeaux is a port city located on the Garonne River in the Gironde department, in the southwest of France. The historic part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the 5th largest city in France and it is the world's wine industry capital with about 116,160 hectares (287,000 acres) of vineyards.

Sightseeing
You can visit the Musée des Beaux Arts, one of the finest painting galleries in France. You can also visit the Jardin botanique de Bordeaux or the Place des Quinconces, which is one of the largest city squares in Europe. The Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is another amazing place to see, and the Cathédrale Saint-André is the main religious building in Bordeaux.
Night-life
You can start by having a dinner in one of the prestigious Bordeaux's restaurants. Then you can go to the Opéra National de Bordeaux or to the Casino Théâtre Barrière. In the late night you can go to a nightclub like La Plage Night Club or Le Monseigneur.

Bordeaux has huge department stores, luxury brands, jewellers, craftsmen, perfume shops, specialised boutiques of all kinds, etc.
