Yvelines is a French department in the Ile-De-France region, which was created from the former department Seine-Et-Oise in 1968. The department is famous for its capital Versailles, which was also the capital of France under the Ancien Regime for more than a century. A lot of artists and writers have been sheltered there such as Emile Zola or Maurice Ravel and the land abounds with parks and gardens which offer beautiful landscapes.

A whole series of castles is available for you, including the castle of Versailles, the castle of Thoiry and his zoological garden or the castle of Saint-Germain-En-Laye. You can also visit museums, famous French artists’ houses and farms. Hiking through the countryside will make your day brighter.
