The town of Mykonos is a gorgeous example of Cycladic architecture. In fact, all the houses here are white with coloured doors and windows and view to the town lanes. Here, one can find great shops to shop and attractive restaurants to taste the flavours of the island. Furthermore, the beaches are really beautiful, especially in the south coast, where the parties take place during all day and night. One of the most spectacular landscapes is Alefkantra,"The little Venice"as it is called. It's a district of the 18th century, with a wonderful coloured palace. During your holidays in Mykonos, you can, also, visit "the small diamond" (Island of Delos), which, according to mythology, was the birthplace of Apollo.
Food:
Regarding the food, fish like red mullet and skate, are the most common plates. Pan-fried red mullet with tomatoes or tomatoes and capers, is a classic Cyclades dish. On the other hand, skate is being fried and served with the garlic-potato puree skordalia.

The climate is mediterranean, with mild and rainy winters, and warm and sunny summers. In January, the average temperature is 10.5 °C, while in July and August, reaches the 24 °C. In general, the island is windy, and cooler than the other islands of Greece, mostly because of the windmills.

Getting to Mykonos is very simple. In fact, the island is well-connected to the continental Greece through various sea and air connection. The island receive many domestic flight per day from Athens , while in the summer the airport receives many charter flights from many European airports, especially from Italy. If you want to get to Mikonos by ship, maybe after a break in the Greek capital, there are several connections from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, both in Athens and the ports of islands of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.

The nightlife of the island is the main reason why thousands of people come to visit Mykonos. In fact,it is famous especially for its clubs, that often host well-known DJs from all over the word. Mykonos is even called the Ibiza of Greece and the island that never sleeps, since many of its clubs remain open till the dawn.
