Welcome to Vicenza, the city of Palladio’s buildings
Vicenza is a tiny but wonderful city in the north of Italy. It was founded in the 2nd Century and it prospered under Venetian rule from the 15th to the 18th century. The most famous attractions you can find in the city are the buildings designed by Andrea Palladio (1508- 1580) which are based on a detailed study of classical Roman architecture. Palladio’s buildings had a decisive influence on the development of architecture, and the work of this famous architect inspired a precise architectural style which is called Palladian, indeed.

Vicenza represents a unique artistic achievement in the many architectural contributions from Andrea Palladio integrated within its historic fabric and creating its overall character. Through its architecture, the city had exceptional influence on architectural and urban design in most European countries and throughout the world.
Night-life.
You can easily go out for a drink with your friends, and this is due to the fact that Vicenza is full of bars where you can have fun. Moreover, the city is well-known for its famous cocktail, the SPRITZ. This particular cocktail is made up of white wine, Aperol and lemon. The drink is very tasty and it doesn’t have a high alcoholic degree.
Shopping.
If you walk around the city you can find many good places where you can do a lot of shopping. If you go to the main road you can find either less expensive shops and luxury brands. The cost of life in Italy is not very high and there are many periods in which there are sales, so you can do a lot of bargains.

Climate.
Vicenza is characterized by a wonderful climate with hot summers and cool winters. From May to September you will find the ideal climate if you want to visit the city. December and January are the coldest months.
Public transport.
Vicenza has a well-working transport network, which includes buses and trains. The best way to move quickly across the city is the bus, except during the rush hour when it becomes very crowded but it is very easy and the system is very efficient.
