Many locals and tourists thinks that is it the most beautiful town in Mexico, it was built on a hilly ground so nearly every point is on a slant. What makes this town unique, is the fact that this city has a network underground tunnels that serves as roads. The house are very colourful, which makes this town attractive. At the same time, have a look at “Basilica of our Lady of Guanajuato”, it was built between 1671 and 1696. Inside this church you can find a 1.000 years old statue which was donated by Spanish King Charles I, we wanted to protect it from the Arabic invasion in Spain. “Callejon del Beso” (Alley of the kiss) is one of the most visited spots, this alley is very famous and romantic because of its tragic love legend. You can go and visit the first mine of Guanajuato discovered in 1550 and the richest mine still in operation today, at the time it supplied enough silver to sponsor the Spanish Empire and its colonies.
