Aberdeen is a city in North-East of Scotland with a population of 220,420 inhabitants the third largest city of the country. The architecture of Aberdeen is special due to its principal to use granite as a construction material which gives the city the nickname “the silver city”. Since the early 1970s, the first oil fields were developed in the North Sea, the port city quickly became the main supply center for offshore platforms. Aberdeen has a vibrant modern city life, two colleges which are forming ten per cent of the total number of Aberdeen’s population. There are also romantic hideaways, to tranquil country breaks and a host of adrenaline packed outdoor opportunities. Aberdeen received Royal Burgh status from King David I in the 12th Century.
