Staten Island
Staten Island is one of the five boroughs of New York City, however it is the least populated and most remote borough of New York City.
One of the most famous icons of New York City spends half its time on the way to Staten Island. It is the Staten Island Ferry which runs between St. George, Staten Island and Whitehall Street in Manhattan. As it chugs out of the harbour, voyagers are treated to one of the best views of New York Harbour, and the Great Lady known as the Statue of Liberty.
Staten Island is home to a surprising variety of museums. It is a featured haven for artists and musicians who have been moving to Staten Island's North Shore so they can be in close proximity to Manhattan but also have enough affordable space to live and work in.
