Salt lake city is the capital and most populous city of Utah. It is located in the centre of metropolitan area. Salt lake city is situated in a larger metropolitan area, Wasatch Font. Arts have been highly valuated from the earliest day of Salt lake city. Nowadays, it is the home of world-famous mormon Tabernacle choir. In Salt lake city there are located hundreds of brewbars, restaurants and dance clubs. During the summer time there are lots of parks and plazas and during winner time ice-skating rinks. The city is well known for outdoor activities including many nearby ski resorts.

The very first shopping mall was opened in 1868 in Salt lake city and since then the city and shopping have been growing together. The Gateway shapping mall contains over 100 stores and restaurants. The Gateway is mixture of shopping, dining and entertainment. The shopping mall also hosts many community events.

Public transportation
The salt lake city's public transportation consinsts of commutre trains, buses and light-rails to provide you the access for all around the city.
Commute trains
Commute trains operates from Odgen to Provo with limited stops. During weekdays from 4:30 am to just after midnight, saturdays from 6 am to just after 2pm. Commute trains doesn't operate on sundays.
Light-rails
Light-rail lines operates in three color-coded lines. The red line operates from Utah university through downtown to the Daybreak community.
The blue line operates from downtown at transfer station through the valley to Draper.
The green line starts from Salt lake International Airport and runs to the West valley city. Light-rail fees are $2.50 and trains runs every 15 minutes. Rail operates Monday to Friday starting at 5:30 am to 11:30 pm. There are no limatations during the weekends.
Buses
Buses provides you the acces almost everywhere in Greater Salt lake city area with connecting services at many of the Trax and light-rail stations. Bus routes can be found all around the Salt lake valley, Ogden, Utah county all the way to Brigham city. During winter UTA provides ski bus access up Big and Little Cottonwood canyons to Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude.
Climate
The average warmest month is July and the coldest is December. Highest average precipitation is in April.
Spring
Spring in Salt lake city is warm while the snow still covering the mountains. Skiing season usually continues to the mid-April, but during the extra snowy years even in June. Combination of warm weather in valley and snow in mountains makes possible to ski and golf during same day.
Summer
Summers can be very hot in valley, but the mountains and the canyons brings break from the heat. This provides opportunity to go to hikinh, biking or picnic.
Fall
During the fall you can enjoy the full energetic colours of nature as the trees are preparing for the winter. Tempearature is still desirable for the outdoor activities. Evenings can be chilly and later in the fall there can be snow in the mountains as well as in the valley.
Winter
Winters are not as cold as you might expect. The temperature seldom drops below zero during winters. This provides perfect athmosphere for skiing and other outdoor activities.
